SacIONS, the Sacramento Community Group of the Institute of Noetic Sciences is a non-profit membership organization that is affiliated with and supports the programs of the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) in its vision and mission to explore the frontiers of consciousness. SacIONS presents programs that expand the understanding of human possibility by investigating aspects of mind, consciousness, and spirit.

Valarie Kaur’s book See No Stranger has been the basis of our discussions for several months. Valarie’s work in human rights and building an equitable world has inspired deep work questioning current structures in our society. We have been using the process of reimagining the structures of education, racial equity, and health care. Her TED talk is an empassioned and eloquent call to change.   https://www.ted.com/talks/valarie_kaur_3_lessons_of_revolutionary_love_in_a_time_of_rage?language=en

Silence

I sit in meditation
Finding peace
Oneness
Ease
Relaxation.

Most of all I experience
Silence.

It comes over me
As if it is something,
Soft air
Awareness of nothing
An energy without definition.

It exists outside me
Inside
Holding me
Waiting for nothing
Inviting.

Come, enjoy my being,
I am here always
I can be no other place
No other thing
Silence.

I hold you in peace
As you venture
Into my realms
Where words disappear
And you find dimension.

I can allow flow
Where there is desire
For new experience
To find or remember
Holiness.

I am silence
Here for you
In this space
Between spaces
Always.

We anticipate the reinvigoration of our video viewing circle during which we will explore topics by watching informative videos on a wide range of topics and then sharing our viewpoints through discussion. Typically each time we gather we spend time together in meditation and close with a gratitude circle.

Several of our members have answered a call to action with the Pachamama Alliance. This organization has a free course (donation requested) that includes both the foundational inner work necessary to be courageous in this time of change and the resources to inspire and connect you on your journey to create a sustainable, equitable, just world for all. The course called Game Changers Intensive is designed to wake people to the important issues we are facing, and inspire us to be the change makers needed now. Our group continues to investigate topics that have attracted the interest of our members. Individuals volunteer to lead a discussion based on their knowledge, research, and experience. Most recently, one member shared her knowledge of the White Lions of Timbavati. These lions, living in South Africa, have been central to the spiritual traditions and lore of the region. Once thought to be extinct, these astounding creatures instead have been the focus of a successful project to procure land in their native habitat and reintroduce them into the wild. They are regarded by African shamanic elders as messengers to Humanity from the angelic realms.Their message is we need to awaken to our divine essence and recognize our oneness with Mother Earth and all her life and treat all with love and respect. If we don’t quickly make that shift, we will cause the extinction of all species including our own. The latest UN report says the same thing. We can make this the Decade of Transformation.
